Specifications

Mineral potassium silicate exterior paint with PPS® (Proactive Photocatalytic System) technology. Formulated with titanium dioxide (TiO₂) and light-resistant mineral pigments, it complies with the specifications of the Italian Ministerial Decree of 01.04.2004. Thanks to the silicification process, it ensures very high breathability and a natural aged effect ideal for historic restoration, transforming atmospheric pollutants into harmless residual substances.

Characteristics

The photocatalytic properties of the formulation enable the oxidation of pollutants and their conversion into harmless residual substances.

Uses

  • External surfaces of historic buildings and modern residential properties in urban areas with high levels of pollution.
  • Suitable for any type of new construction material such as wall coatings, cement, concrete, plaster, lime, or for the renovation of existing coatings in public buildings, underpasses and arcades.

Method of Application

The substrates must be dry, mineral-based and free from detachment. FotoSil should be applied with a brush or roller over a coat of FotoSil Primer, avoiding direct exposure to sunlight, strong wind or temperatures above 30°C, which may compromise the silicification process. In the event of immediate rainfall and the formation of whitish stains, the area must be neutralised before repainting.

Colours and finishes

Available in more than 50 colours. To optimise the effectiveness of PPS® technology, the use of the 12 light pastel shades of the Ecorivestimento line is recommended, specifically developed to ensure maximum stability and photocatalytic performance.
