Specifications

Photocatalytic paint (Ecotunnel Paint) developed with PPS (Proactive Photocatalytic System) technology — European Patent No. 04425258.3. Thanks to nanocomponent science and the use of titanium dioxide (TiO₂), it ensures a homogeneous dispersion of the active principle (50–100 g/m²) and a contact surface >10%. Specifically formulated for tunnels, underpasses, viaducts and underground parking areas, it is active even under artificial light only, transforming atmospheric pollutants (CO, NOx, SOx, particulate matter) into harmless residues.

Characteristics

The specific PHOTOCATALYTIC properties of the formulation enable the oxidation of pollutants and their subsequent transformation into harmless residual substances.

  • Antibacterial and anti-mould action through photocatalytic oxidation–reduction of organic components, resulting in the elimination of unpleasant odours.
  • Up to 80% reduction of harmful substances emitted by vehicles.
  • Self-cleaning properties that preserve the white colour and light reflectance over time.
  • Reduction of mould, fungi and unpleasant odours typical of enclosed environments.
  • High surface reflectance improves internal visibility for drivers and pedestrians.

  • Coating of vertical tunnel walls and vault surfaces.

Method of Application

Application and dilution

Application by brush, roller or airless spray equipment.
Dilution: first coat 25–30%, second coat 20% with water.

Preparation and substrate requirements

Surfaces must be free from salt efflorescence, flaking and loose material.
Ensure that the surfaces to be treated are previously coated with a suitable primer layer (FOTODECOR PRIMER).

Special applications and maintenance

In the case of tunnel applications, periodic washing with low-pressure water spray is recommended to remove residues generated by photocatalytic reactions.
