Ecoating

Specifications

Photocatalytic premixed cement-based mortar for road surfaces. It contains titanium dioxide (TiO₂) with PPS® (Proactive Photocatalytic System) technology, inert materials and ultrafine additives specifically formulated in compliance with the specifications of the Italian Ministerial Decree (Ministry of the Environment) of 09.04.2004.

Proactive Photocatalytic System

Proactive Photocatalytic System is the result of an innovative technology based on the science of nanocomponents, developed to optimize photocatalytic processes and deliver products that are more efficient, more stable, and capable of achieving superior performance compared to conventional technologies of previous generations.
Proactive Photocatalytic System is a registered trademark of Global Engineering.

Characteristics

  • Converts pollutants into harmless residues.
  • Reduces surface temperatures thanks to its reflective effect.
  • Resistant to de-icing salts.
  • High skid-resistance coefficient.
  • Antibacterial and anti-mould action through photocatalytic oxidation-reduction processes.

Uses

  • Asphalt or concrete road pavements.
  • Parking areas, squares, cycle paths and sidewalks.
  • Balconies and covered areas.
  • Low-traffic roads.

Method of Application

1
Surface preparation

To ensure good adhesion, the substrate must be carefully prepared. The surfaces to be treated must be perfectly clean, sound, and free of dust, water, grease, and incompatible materials. The substrate must be properly roughened.

2
Preparation of the mixture

Mix the product with the appropriate amount of water. Gradually add clean water to the product until reaching a water content of approximately 20% of the mixture (max. 5 litres per 25 kg bag).
Mix thoroughly. Add more water if necessary (to obtain a more fluid mixture required for certain applications); continue mixing until a homogeneous, lump-free compound is obtained.

3
Application of the mixture

Apply a thin layer of the mixture manually or using industrial road paving equipment. The minimum thickness is approximately 1.5 mm and the maximum approximately 1.8 mm.
Under normal climatic conditions, wait at least 12 hours before allowing use of the treated surface and 24 hours before reopening to traffic. Weather conditions may significantly affect drying times.
